The producers' problems with the platforms were raised/Stance against the presence of video films in Fajr

According to Mehr news agency, the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association of Independent Cinema Producers of Iran was held with the presence of members of the jury and the legal committee of the association. In this meeting, some problems of the producers in connection with the platforms were raised in the presence of Seyyed Ali Akbar Mahmoudi Mehrizi regarding not using a professional producer in the productions of the platforms.

In this meeting, the presence of non-professionals in the field of production in the platforms, which has led to many problems, and the use of professional producers were emphasized.

Among the other issues raised in this meeting was the showing of foreign films without receiving the right to show them. The board of directors of the association asked the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to pay due attention to the copyright of the films shown on the platforms.

The board of directors of the association also asked Satra and other platforms monitoring centers to stop the broadcast of ads from platforms that broadcast ads at the same time as receiving the subscription fee. Because in this field, global platforms refuse to broadcast ads in exchange for subscription fees, but in Iran this issue is not implemented, especially since the subscription price of these platforms is equal to a cinema ticket. But in Iran, this amount is much more than the ticket price.

Further, one of the members of the board of directors of the association announced that this year, outside of the regulations, it is said that the Fajr Film Festival will also show films with a video production license. This can harm the status of the festival and the importance of the movie. It was decided that the association should take a stand in case of such an error.

In the continuation of this meeting, the members of the legal committee consisting of Ali Sotoudhnia, Mohammad Reza Misbah and Jalal Dari were asked to edit the brigade contract for the producers as soon as possible. Next, Jalal Dari spoke about the legal problems of cinema producers and made suggestions for the outcome, which were decided to be reviewed by the legal committee and then presented to the board of directors.

Seyyed Gholamreza Mousavi, Morteza Shaisheta, Suleiman Ali Mohammad, Mohammad Reza Misbah, Sasan Salour, Saeed Khani, Seyed Mohsen Jahed, Amir Sharvin, Ruhollah Hijazi, Jalil Akbari Sehat, Seyed Hossein Haqgou, Jalal Dari and Ali Sotoudhnia were present in this meeting.
