The medical community readiness to combat addiction

According to Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Raiszadeh, at the opening ceremony of the 17th Scientific Congress of Addiction Knowledge, said: “There are now about thousands of our doctors working in addiction treatment centers, while we can get more physicians in health centers. They are active, to contribute to the treatment of addicts, but because of the trade problems these people are involved, this is not the case.

“Since addiction is a complex and multilayer phenomenon, we have two concepts of the Mafia, which is the economic factor of addiction and the victim, which is the addict,” he said.

Raiszadeh continued: If the problems of the doctors' trade unions, especially solving the problems of the regulations, their 5,000 -strong community is ready to cooperate to address the problem of addiction.

At the ceremony, Alireza Raisi, Deputy Health Deputy of the Ministry of Health, said: “The chances of addiction in neighborhoods with high addiction statistics are five to six times higher, so it is necessary to discuss addiction prevention in the neighborhood -based way.” Let's go.

Pointing out that the chances of addiction in children who are addicted to one of their parents are ten times higher than others, he said: “The discussion of addiction prevention should be started from school level and by teaching skills to deal with it.”

Raisi continued: There are now two thousand health experts in the country who have good potential nationwide to serve the field of prevention and treatment of addiction.

He continued: The first step is to recognize the phenomenon of addiction and the next step is to accept it. We must admit that the problem of addiction in the country is available in various types, such as alcoholism, and the third step is to treat treatment.

Sayed Javad Hosseini, head of the Welfare Organization, also said: “Addiction is a cause of social harm, so the establishment of such congresses can play an effective role in understanding the phenomenon of addiction and providing a solution.”

He added: “Unfortunately, the number of addiction in the world and Iran has been on the rise and in the last six months the drug addiction in the world has increased by 5 %.”

Hosseini regrets that Iran is not better at reducing addiction than other countries. Psychoanalysis And increasing the tendency to industrial materials has cited the negative characteristics of the phenomenon of addiction in recent years.

He said: 5 % of drugs in the country enter Iran from Afghanistan, which we need clever supervision to counter. Also in the field of addiction treatment, you should be customized and appropriate treatment according to the circumstances of each person.

The 17th Scientific Congress of Addiction Knowledge by the Center for Cell and Molecular Research of Iran University of Medical Sciences and sponsored by the World Association of Addiction and Cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Welfare Organization, Drug Enforcement Staff, Cognitive Technology Development Staff, NGOs, etc. It started at the Razi Conference Center in Tehran on Wednesday, February 23, and will continue until Friday.
