The challenges of men returning from war; What is “Death in a Dog's Hour” like?

According to Mehr reporter, Hossein Fallah, the director of the play “Death in the Dog's Hour” which is on stage in the play workshop, referring to the selection of an Iranian play for performance, said: I think for all friends who decide to perform the play, staging Iranian texts be a priority for several reasons.

This artist continued: First, Iranian texts have a better and higher understanding for our audience because they are involved in the drama of society's issues. Second, there is a higher ability to understand these texts for the director and actor because either they or their parents have lived in the same space and have easier access to the information in the play. Thirdly, we may be able to better convey the important events around us to the audience in the language of the show.

Fallah added: Fourthly, our language is Farsi and respect for Persian language and literature should be part of the mission of the theater, and fifthly, with this work, young writers will be given the opportunity to show their talent and they will be encouraged to work more because they will have more demand for work. .

He said about the characteristics of the play “Death in a Dog's Hour”: This play is an anti-war work and the reason for my acceptance to perform this work was the same. After the First World War with the death of 10 million people and the Second World War with the death of 85 million people, no one believed that there would be another war in the world, because the destruction of the war continued until years later, but it did not happen, and again there was war all over the world. There was war and there will be war.

This theater director continued: War happens at some point and finally ends, but its negative effects and terror on the minds of all sections of a society will remain forever, for example, you can never forget the chemical bombing of Sardasht and Halabja. My problem is the destructive effects of the war because I still have friends who suffered a lot from the Iran-Iraq war and still haven't returned to normal life. Of course, the reason for choosing this play with the theme of war is the problem of today's world, not only Iran.

This actor, director and cinema planner said: I made several documentaries about martyred children under the age of fifteen. A mother was still waiting for her child's body after thirty years, and on the day we went to film, she thought we heard about her son. So the war does not end for those who have lost their children.

Fallah stated: Today's audience is 2 spectrums or the generation that has seen the war or heard about the war. In both spectrums, there may be those whose relatives or acquaintances were in the war or heard about those people from others. In any case, none of them have experienced the war on Khushi and do not like it, but when the audience welcomes this play, it means that they are worried that this country may fall into war again.

In the end, he reminded: Our hall is the smallest theater in the city and we didn't have extensive advertisements to perform, but luckily the hall is filled every night due to the audience's welcome and this is a good benchmark to know the standard of the audience and their taste.
