Lavrov: America in Riyadh called for normalization of relations with Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the United States called for normalization of relations with Russia during talks in Riyadh, and Moscow is ready for serious talks, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Lavrov said: “I hope I will not reveal my secret, but when we met with Marco Rubio, Mike Waltz and Steve Witekaf (the Secretary of State and National Security Adviser and the US Special Envoy in the Middle East), they said that we demanded normal relations between the United States because the US government was based on foreign policy.”

The senior Russian diplomat emphasized: “The Americans have come to the conclusion that other countries are seeking their national interests, and therefore, with those countries that have their own national interests and do not play the interests of another country, they are ready to negotiate serious negotiations.”
