CIA director: Iran has no decision to move towards building a nuclear bomb

According to Mehr news agency, William Burns, the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), in an exclusive and long interview with the US National Radio (NPR), claiming that “Iran may decide to rebuild its deterrent capability and the program to resume its armaments, which it had suspended in 2003”, he admitted: “But we do not see any signs of such a decision today, but we are following it closely.

Cease fire in Gaza and exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hamas

In response to the cease-fire in Gaza, Burns also said: “Right now, I still think there's a chance.” That is, I learned not to get my hopes up too high for the ceasefire negotiations and the hostages. However, I think there is still a chance of reaching an agreement and this government will certainly do its best by January 20.

He added: Coordination with the new government has been good on this issue, and President-elect Trump has also expressed his interest in trying to reach an agreement before the inauguration ceremony.

In response to Trump's threat, who said that if the hostages are not released, he will start a hell in the Middle East, Burns also said: I think the distance between the parties has decreased. Right now there is an Israeli delegation in Doha working through indirect negotiations managed by the Qataris, with the support of the Egyptians and us. So, I think there is still a possibility.

He added: “The thing I always remember is that the subject under discussion is beyond the technical and written details in the text of the negotiations and has much more important implications and implications.” It is not just about the text of the negotiations. This is about humans. This is about the hostages being held in Gaza. It's about their families that I meet regularly. It's also about the civilians in Gaza, who are living in terrible conditions right now and are suffering especially this winter. So, there are many reasons why political leaders need to understand that enough is enough. Now is the time to make an agreement. I really think that the negotiations are going on in earnest and that there is at least a possibility that an agreement will be reached in the coming weeks.
