Promoting the constitution will cause national consensus and solidarity

The first meeting of the National Constitutional Conference on Tuesday, June 23, was attended by Hojjatoleslam Majid Ansari, Vice President of Legal President, and Abbas Ali Kadkhodai, Vice President of the Guardian Research Institute, and Vice President of the Guardian Council.

At the meeting, Hojjatoleslam Ansari, referring to the experience of holding the annual Constitutional Conference in recent years, stated: These conferences were held publicly on the occasion of the anniversary of the constitution, but this year it is decided to take a scientific and specialized approach.

The Vice President of Legal Emphasizing the necessity of promoting the constitution said: Holding scientific and specialized meetings is one of the effective ways to strengthen the constitutional status in society. The conference should deal with applied issues and its scientific production be provided to the government in the form of executive strategies.

Following the meeting, Abbas Ali Kadkhodai, referring to Imam Khomeini's (R), said: Imam Khomeini always emphasized the necessity of formulating, monitoring and proper implementation of the constitution. It should be thankful for God that the sympathetic and forward -looking leadership, the founder of the military, is at the disposal of the people today.

He said that promoting the constitution is a transcendental task, adding that the existence of different views on the constitution not only does not interfere with, but also deepen and strengthen this fundamental document. All government agencies, including the Guardian Council, the Majlis, the Government and the Judiciary, must move on to explain the law.

Referring to the neglected capacities of the constitution, Codexi pointed out: Scientific meetings and conferences can help the constitutionalization of the constitution. The continuous holding of these programs in various institutions is an essential step towards the realization of the capacity of this national document.

In the end, Bijan Abbasi, the Vice President of Legal Constitution, also referred to the legal duties of the Vice President, said: According to Article 5 of the Constitutional Code, the Constitution is obliged to hold scientific and specialized programs with the consent of the Vice President. Last year, despite the time limit, two scientific meetings were held, and this year the National Constitutional Conference will be held on Saturday, December 5, at the Sheikh Ansari Hall of the Faculty of Law, University of Tehran.
