An incentive package should be considered for the restoration of historical houses

According to Mehr News Agency, Fakhr al-Sadat Khamsi said: The city of Yazd, as one of the most important tourist destinations and cultural heritage of Iran, with its unique historical context, has always attracted the attention of domestic and foreign tourists. But in recent years, wear and tear and damage caused by lack of proper maintenance and repair are considered a serious threat to this valuable fabric.

Pointing out that allocating incentive packages can be a good solution for preserving the historical context, he added: These packages can include financial facilities, grants, technical advice, and tax exemptions for the owners of historical buildings.

Khamsi continued: By providing these incentives, the owners are encouraged to repair and restore their houses and prevent further destruction of these works.

A member of the Islamic Council of Yazd city stated: In addition to financial support, creating training courses for owners and contractors in the field of principles of restoration and preservation of historical context can also help to improve the quality of works. Also, facilitating the legal and administrative processes for obtaining restoration permits is one of the other measures that can help speed up the process of improving the historical fabric of Yazd.

He stated: Considering the importance of preserving the historical context of Yazd as a world heritage, it is necessary for government and private institutions to design and implement programs to define and implement incentive packages in cooperation. This action will not only help preserve the history and culture of Yazd city, but it can also lead to the economic prosperity of the region and attract more tourists.
