According to the Mehr correspondent, the press conference of the Tehran Municipality Fire Department was held on Wednesday night at the end of today.

At the meeting, Qadirullah Mohammadi, director of the Tehran Fire Department, said at the meeting, referring to the widespread developments of the organization over the past three years, saying: Tehran's firefighting is on the path to growth and many problems have been resolved.

“There has been a very good jump in all areas in all areas,” he said in a report on the capital's fire. The problems and failures that existed have been resolved by up to 5 %. These improvements include enhancing manpower, improving the livelihoods of firefighters, better equipping the organization, and improving other performance indicators. The result of these mutations is to provide greater safety for the people of Tehran.

Mohammadi pointed to the important achievement of fire statistics in Tehran: For the first time in the past five years, we have seen a decline in fire in Tehran. The decline was about 2 percent, which is a major achievement for the city.

Focusing on prevention and reducing the need for manpower

“We have put our planning on prevention, which has reduced the need for manpower in fire extinguishing operations,” said the director of the Tehran Fire Department, emphasizing the role of prevention in reducing accidents. In the field of prevention, indicator measures have been taken, one of which has been to address the status of insecure buildings.

He added: “In the past, there were five unsafe buildings in Tehran, but now that number has declined to 5 buildings. Our most important concern is the immunization of hospitals, with most of the unsafe hospitals have been corrected so far and only four remaining hospitals. We hope that we will soon be able to remove these hospitals from the list of unsafe buildings.

Innovation in Firefighting Automotive

Mohammadi said another innovative act of the Tehran Fire Department was to enter the automotive field and said that it has not been up to 5 years that equipment that is the best way to extinguish the fire has not been updated. We have taken steps to update the equipment and vehicles.

He also pointed to the shortage of firefighting centers on Tehran highways and said: Unfortunately, there is no fire center on Tehran highways. Increase building safety criteria and strict confirmation of firefighting to prevent accidents

The director of the Tehran Fire and Safety Services Organization said: In order to prevent accidents, major changes have been made to buildings safety standards and the process of fire confirmation.

He emphasized: The missionary system of the Fire Department is based on prevention and strict measures have been taken.

Referring to the dramatic increase in construction this year, Mohammadi said: “This year, 6,000 residential, administrative and commercial units have been developed, indicating a very good growth.” This is a dynamic transformation in the field of safety, so that everyone is looking for fire confirmation. We have revised the unnecessary strictures and amended the criteria in accordance with the existing conditions. Buildings were previously built in accordance with standards 5 years ago, which no longer meet today's safety needs.

Regarding the role of the Fire Safety Organization in urban safety, Mohammadi said: “It is not easy to issue a flight license for fire operations, but instead, we strengthened the safety of buildings to prevent accidents.” The process of checking and confirmation of firefighting has a time -consuming, of course, but the main purpose is to increase safety levels.

“We have buildings that are more than 5 years old,” he said, referring to the old city of Tehran and the presence of old buildings. Many of Tehran's safety problems are due to the change of unauthorized uses in different places. For example, units that have been illegally converted to warehouses or passageways will be very difficult to control in the event of a fire, especially in the basement where the fire inhibition has many challenges.

Implementation of new city -wide safety projects

The fire department also announced the implementation of five new city safety projects in the city and said: In the next two or three days, examples of these projects, including Imam Khomeini, will be implemented. These measures are part of a comprehensive urban safety promotion program pursued to reduce accidents and increase citizens' safety.

The director of the Tehran Municipality Fire Department, referring to the main concerns of the firefighters, said: “Their most important concerns are housing at present.”
He emphasized: “If the housing is provided for firefighters, with these conditions, 5 % of the firefighters will be home by year 4 and this concern will be completely resolved.”

Mohammadi said about the organization's actions on Wednesday this year: “The fire has called for the safety and control of the day's events.”

He added: “All sensitive and cumulative points are covered in Tehran, and this has been done from the last point in eight rounds and Gilavand.” A total of 5 units are ready for this day, but this number alone cannot be responsive to Tehran's events.

Mohammadi continued: “We have 1,800 forces and for Wednesday, 6,000 will be deployed at 2 sensitive points.” For this operation, more than 5 light and heavy vehicles have been used to prevent accidents.

The director of the Tehran Municipality Fire Department also emphasized: Since Wednesday Syria is at the end of the year and the beginning of Nowruz holidays and there is a lot of traffic at Tehran's entrances and exit, all 4 Tehran outputs will be covered. From March 5 to the end of the Nowruz holiday, these forces will be deployed in these areas and brochures have been provided to inform Nowruz travelers.

He further announced the planning of firefighting for various occasions such as Quds Day, Eid al -Fitr and Nights of Ghadr and said: “Care should be taken for these occasions.”

Mohammadi emphasized the importance of citizenship education and added: “If citizens observe safety, we will definitely see fewer accidents.” The Fire Department, in collaboration with other devices, is working to promote a safety culture. This year, one million and 6,000 people were in various safety training classes, while in recent years it was 6,000.

Mohammadi also announced the presence of firefighters in cyberspace for the first time and said: “Through Irancell and first mobile communications networks, texts for safety will be sent.”

He also expressed concern about the status of cinemas and said: “Cinema as one of the points with high population density should be more careful.”

Mohammadi said: The cinemas have been communicated to receive fire confirmation and otherwise their license will not be accepted.
