World Food Program cuts food aid to Yemen

As millions of Yemenis face the threat of drowning into a famine due to the ongoing -led war on the country, the World Food says it will reduce its food rations to eight million people in starting next month due to a lack of funding.

The warned that the shortage of funds will hamper the assistance it provides to 13 million Yemenis including thousands of suffering from acute .

Since the beginning of the Saudi-led in 2015, millions of Yemenis have been depending on humanitarian assistance to survive. The United Nations describes Yemen as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

Observers say the lives of millions of Yemenis remain in danger unless the takes real measures to pressure to lift the siege it imposes on Yemen.

Despite ongoing humanitarian assistance the world body says 16.2 million people in Yemen remain food insecure.
