Widespread protests in Syria and the checkpoint by demonstrators

Syrian sources have reported widespread protests in the outskirts of Latakia, according to Mehr News Agency.

Local sources told Al -Jazeera that demonstrators in the suburbs of Latakia are calling for security forces to leave the city.

The sources said that the city's checkpoint was besieged by demonstrators.
