Volcano eruption on the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia

The Kamchatka volcanic eruption team announced on its telegram channel that the eruption began at 4:50 local time on Sunday and the columns were launched up to 2-5 kilometers above sea level.
Officials said the ash column is moving east and to the Pacific. There is no residential settlement on the ash cloud route and no reports of ashes have been reported in the populated areas.
The orange alert has been issued. Krashnikov, about 2 kilometers north of Petropolofsk-Kamchatsky and 2 kilometers south of Lake Cronotskuyeh, is part of the eastern volcanic area of Kamchaatka.
Earlier, the Regional Branch of the Ministry of Emergency Medicine had warned of the possibility of ash being released at a height of 2 to 5 kilometers from several other Kamchatka volcanoes.
Residents and tourists have been advised to avoid traveling about 2 kilometers from the peak of these volcanoes.
The eruption occurred just days after an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale in the Kamchatka Peninsula. The earthquake warned tsunami and declared emergency in parts of Kamchatka and the Soro-Corillask area.
