Mehdi Burjian, writer and director of the short film “Taji”, who is competing at the forty -third Fajr Film Festival, said in a conversation with Mehr reporter about the idea of ​​this short film: The idea of ​​”Taji” is an understanding of a real character in During the screenplay research, another film was formed, and one line of the story plus my own imagination became a script for “Taj”.

He explained: “Taji” is told in a factory and the space of this film is different from my previous films. My previous films were always filmed in small places with 1 to 2 characters, but in Taji, in addition to 2 to 4 central characters, I was confronted with a large number of workers, artists and sub characters, making it different to me. It was an attractive challenge for me.

“The selection of the actor in every project is based on the size and characterization of the author and the director,” Bermian said. The same was true in this film. When I write the script, I think about the actors in my mind during dialogue; I think of their tone, awe and their abilities, and I actually make my own choices when I finish the script. It was almost the same here, except for the crown role I chose with more obsession, and I thought it was the best choice.

At the Tehran Short Film Festival, I can dare to say that the short film “Taji” was persecuted and this film was a victim of the selection board and the festival managers.Asked why the film “Taji” was selected for Fajr but was not accepted at the 40th Tehran Short Film Festival, he explained: “The selection of films in every festival is to the level of taste and literacy of the selection board. There is a film at a festival but not at another festival, and this is not the reason for the film's bad or good. At the Tehran Short Film Festival, I can dare to say that the short film “Taji” was prosecuted and the film was the victim of the selection board and the festival executives.

The director of the cinema said about attending the Fajr Film Festival and how effective the event is in the course of his filmmaking. Certainly attending the country's most important film festival for any filmmaker will continue to work.

Responding to hoping for the Simorgh short film, he expressed hope for the award, adding: “The Simorgh Award is proud of any filmmaker, but I hope to receive the Simorgh Award for us short film kids and make progress on the way. Make our filmmaking because Simorgh will be credited with any filmmaker anyway.

“The Fajr Film Festival is definitely a very important motivation to make a feature film,” Bermian said of the biggest cinematic event and its impact on its filmmaking path.
