The number of fire victims in 1000 destroyed buildings in Los Angeles; The disaster is spreading
According to Mehr news agency, citing Al-Arabiya network, the United States authorities announced that at least 5 people were killed in several fires in the forests northeast of Los Angeles in the state of California.
Asad Al-Najjar, chief engineer of the Los Angeles Municipality, told Al-Arabiya that we may be able to control these fires completely by Sunday.
American officials announced that so far at least five people have died in these fires that occurred in the suburbs of Los Angeles and are still out of control. This is despite the fact that there is a possibility of increasing this number.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said the death toll has risen from two to five, and as the search progresses, we may see more.
He added that the situation is still very unstable and he prays that the number of casualties will not increase, but the reality may be otherwise.
It is said that 3 fires are currently progressing in different areas of Los Angeles, and the biggest one is the fire that occurred in the wealthy neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, and so far more than 2023 hectares of land in this area have burned.
This area is located between Santa Monica and Malibu and is home to many famous artists.
The Eaton Fire has also burned more than 809 acres in the Altadina area, near Pasadena, and there are reports of two deaths in the area.
The Hirst fire in the Sylmar area of the San Fernando Valley has also burned more than 200 hectares of forest in this area.
Strong winds have greatly complicated the efforts to contain the fire and caused the flames to spread faster.
Los Angeles Fire Chief Anthony Maron said in a press conference that more than 1,000 buildings have been destroyed by these fires.
These three fires are still spreading and containment and rescue operations are ongoing.
