The increase in the effects of waste is a double burden on the shoulders of the weaker sections of the society

According to Mehr Vali Chegini news agency, he said: We must look realistically and logically at the issue of increasing tolls. People have trusted us and made us their representatives to defend their rights, not to add to the pressures of their lives.

He continued: In these difficult economic conditions, where many families are facing problems even in providing their basic necessities, what does the increase in waste taxes mean?

Referring to the citizens' complaints and objections to the increase in waste tax rates, especially in the residential sector, Chegini pointed out: Last year, we decided to increase taxes and what was the result? People were right to complain. Hundreds of citizens went to the council and expressed their protest. Do we want to go the same way again?

According to the vice chairman of the Council, the increase of these fees, especially for the low-income groups, is nothing but imposing a double pressure on those who may not even have settled the fees of the previous year.

The head of the council's financial commission emphasized: Today, our decision is more than a financial decision, with this decision we can strengthen people's trust or lose it, let's show people that we are with them, that we understand their problems and To solve these problems, we are looking for the best solutions, not the easiest ways.

Stating that we are the people's representatives and we should be their voice, he added: How can we put more pressure on the shoulders of the people who are bent under the burden of economic problems? There are families who have problems even for their daily expenses. Will these increases really bring anything other than driving people away from the council and city management? Instead of making decisions that frustrate people, let's think of solutions that take the burden off their shoulders.

While opposing the increase in waste taxes next year, Chegini said: we can think of alternative solutions, such as selling recycled materials to manufacturing companies, attracting investors and using their capacity, training and culture, etc., in exchange for the increase. To provide the needed resources without imposing pressure on the people.

The vice president of the council pointed out: We must not forget that our people need justice and the support of our officials. Any decision that increases our distance with the people is a blow to their trust. Instead of choosing the easiest way, let's look for the best way.

Emphasizing the fact that we must represent justice, this member of the Council clarified: Let's show the people that their voice is important to us and make a decision that is correct.

In another part of his speech, Chegini emphasized the need to pay attention to the culture and implementation of measures regarding the separation of waste from the source and said: In the past ten years, Qazvin city had a good position among other provinces in the field of waste separation from the source, but currently it is very We are weak, so it requires effective measures to be taken in this sector through education and culture.
