The first Iranian leopard registration in the heights of Assaluyeh city

According to Mehr News Agency, Abdul Rahman Moradzadeh, referring to the environmental importance of the area, stated: After receiving numerous reports from the rangelands over the past years, extensive monitoring was carried out in these heights, and finally in March, the first image of the Iranian leopard in The area was registered. This success is the result of the continuous efforts of experts and the cooperation of local communities.

He emphasized the importance of protecting the habitat: “The area needs special protection measures because of its impassion and human pressures.” In this regard, the Department of Environmental Protection of the city of Assaluyeh has put effective measures such as regular monitoring, training and participation of pastures and local communities, and increased control patrols.

Moradzadeh praised the valuable efforts of the Assaluyeh Environmental Protection Agency, the Deputy Director of Natural Environment and Biodiversity of the province, honorary supporters and rangelands in the region, and emphasized the need to improve the protection of the habitat and implement comprehensive protection programs to support the Iranian leopard population in the area. .

Mustafa Mawzani, head of the Assaluyeh County Environmental Protection Agency, said: “Identifying and protecting valuable wildlife habitats, especially at risk, is one of our main priorities.” Over the years, with field survey, the registration of profiles such as footprints, hunting carcasses, leopard's presence has been identified, and finally, by installing telephoto cameras in different locations, we were able to capture the first image of this valuable species.
