The crash of light plane in the west of Finland

The accident occurred shortly after departing from Jamijaravi Airport, a popular destination for private and leisure flights, according to a report by Euro News.

The pilot, described by a middle -aged man, died at the scene. Only the passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police have surrounded the airport hall and the surrounding area. Investigations on the cause of the accident are underway.

Anina Walton, an expert at the Meteorological Center, noted that the local wind speed was low at the time of the accident and rejected the weather as an effective factor.

Jamijaravi Airport is more active during the summer and attracts paratroopers, glider pilots and light aircraft enthusiasts.

The Finnish Aviation Association has likened ultra -light planes to “aviation fugitives” because of their speed and style.
