Tens of ISIL Members Killed in Kurdish Fighters’ Advances in Syria’s Raqqa

TEHRAN (FNA)- The predominately Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued the fourth phase of the Euphrates Rage Operations against ISIL and managed to capture four more villages North of Raqqa after killing 47 militants.

The SDF engaged in a tough battle with ISIL in Northern Raqqa and seized control of the villages of Um al-Tanak, Beir Jarba, Jarwa and Hatash in Wadi (desert) al-Jalab.

In the meantime, the Kurdish forces repelled ISIL’s heavy attacks on SDF’s positions in Eskandariyeh district and in regions North and North-West al-Tabaqa city.

Local sources said that 47 ISIL members, including seven suicide attackers, were killed in the clashes with the SDF.  

Relevant reports said on Monday that the SDF forces that managed to take control over al-Eskandariyeh neighborhood in the Western part of al-Tabaqa city continued its advances towards Central areas of the city, seizing control over 15 positions, including some strategic positions of ISIL terrorists.

Field sources near Raqqa city reported that the Kurdish forces engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL and took control of the two villages of al-Reihanat and Kabash Qarbi in the Western countryside of Raqqa city and the village of al-Moshayrefeh in the Southern countryside of Raqqa.

They added that the Kurdish forces drove ISIL out of four more farms too, killing 13 ISIL fighters and seizing a large volume of arms and munitions.
