Two Iranian soldiers martyred in repelling Israeli attacks

TEHRAN – The Iranian Army has confirmed the martyrdom of two soldiers who were killed while repelling Israeli attacks on military sites within Iran during the early hours of Saturday. 

The statement, released hours after the attacks, confirmed that the two soldiers lost their lives while defending Iranian soil. The Army has promised to release further information regarding the incident in the near future. 

Israel had announced earlier Saturday morning that it was targeting military sites in Iran. Footage taken by Iranian citizens has shown the country’s defense systems intercepting unidentified projectiles in the air. The attacks targeted positions in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam. Iran says the assault has caused limited damage.
