“Sangan Iron Ore Complex”: the Largest Iron Ore Mine in Iran

The Sangan Khaf iron ore mine is located in 16 km north of Sangan city in the Khaf County of Khorasan Razavi Province and 300 kilometers southeast of Mashhad, near Iran’s border with Afghanistan. It is one of the largest mines in the Middle East, and forms the basis of the region’s economic activities.
