Syria: Kurdish-Led SDF Advancing towards ISIL’s Positions in Central Part of Al-Tabaqa City
TEHRAN (FNA)- The predominately Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued the fourth phase of the Euphrates Rage operations against ISIL in al-Tabaqa city in Western Raqqa and managed to advance against the terrorists in the Central neighborhoods of the city.
The SDF forces that managed to take control over al-Eskandariyeh neighborhood in the Western part of al-Tabaqa city continued its advances towards Central areas of the city, seizing control over 15 positions, including some strategic positions of ISIL terrorists.
Field sources near Raqqa city reported that the Kurdish forces engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL and took control of the two villages of al-Reihanat and Kabash Qarbi in the Western countryside of Raqqa city and the village of al-Moshayrefeh in the Southern countryside of Raqqa.
They added that the Kurdish forces drove ISIL out of four more farms too, killing 13 ISIL fighters and seizing a large volume of arms and munitions.
Relevant reports said on Saturday that the SDF engaged in tough battle with ISIL and managed to enter al-Tabaqa city from the Western and Eastern directions.
Local sources reported that the Kurdish forces have advanced around one and a half km against ISIL regardless of a large number of landmines planted by ISIL across the city.
The Kurdish fighters have killed over 10 ISIL members in the clashes and have seized a large volume of arms and ammunitions and a number of military vehicles.
