UN General Assembly resolution for urgent ceasefire in Gaza

The UN General Assembly on Thursday called for an urgent, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza war and access to humanitarian aid, according to Mehr News Agency. The move came a week after the US veto a similar plan in the Security Council.

Accordingly, the resolution, which was adopted by two votes in favor, two votes and opposition US, Israel and four other countries, also emphasized:

The text of the resolution condemns the use of hunger for civilians as a method of war and their deliberate deprivation of access to humanitarian aid and essential necessities for survival.
