Nikzad: The Agriculture Commission to enter the issue of rising rice prices

According to Mehr correspondent, Mehrdad Lahouti at a public session today (Sunday, July 9th) in his verbal warning to the Minister of Agriculture Jihad, said: According to the law, rice imports in the harvest season are forbidden and the government has no right to import rice.

The MP in the Islamic Consultative Assembly continued: “Gentlemen think they have to import rice rates, but this is not correct.” Last year, about one and a half thousand tons of rice imported and about 5 million tons were produced.

He noted: Farmers produce rice hard, but last year they sold it at a price of 4,000 tomans per kilogram. The reason for the rise in rice prices is some rent -seeking people who, by receiving the currency of 2,000 tomans, enter the rice and hoard the crop of farmers.

Ali Nikzad, who chaired the meeting, said in response to this hint: “Given that domestic farmers' rice is purchased for a maximum price of 4,000 tomans, selling this product at a price of 4,000 tomans is unacceptable; The Agriculture Commission must enter this issue.
