According to Mehr News Agency, Tehran prosecutor Ali Salehi along with Seyyed Heshmatullah Hayat AlgibThe Director General of Tehran Prisons, Deputy Prisons and Supervision of the Tehran Prosecutor's Office, the District Prosecutor's Office, and the prisons supervised judges, visited Evin detention center on Saturday morning.

Salehi said during the visit: “During the implementation of the judiciary's order to reduce the criminal population and organize prisoners, a visit was visited by Evin detention centers, which met with most detainees and hearing their remarks.”

The purpose of the visit is to address the status of the detention facilities and the affairs of the defendants to address the problems and measures to eliminate them, as well as to respect the rights of the detainees and to accelerate their assignment.

He said: During this visit, the clients' talk directly and problems were carefully heard and after careful examination of the issues raised, the necessary instructions were issued to remove existing barriers and expedite their judicial and administrative requests.

Salehi said: According to the Judiciary's emphasis on reducing temporary arrests, the judicial colleagues have only issued a provision of temporary arrests as soon as possible with sufficient legal documentation.

Salehi noted: One of the clauses of the year's operational program was a decline in criminal population and the organization of prisoners, so judicial colleagues have been on the agenda with continuous visits to prisons, which would be more effective in monitoring the status of prisoners and identifying their problems.

Addressing the detention center managers, Salehi said: “All the capacities should be used to reform and rehabilitate the prisoners while being in prison and to consider a priority.”
