According to Mehr reporter, Kermanshah prosecutor Hamidreza Karimi said in a meeting with the CEO of the electricity distribution company that a legal case will be filed regarding electricity theft in the province and decisive action will be taken against the electricity thieves.

He added: According to the law on the punishment of unauthorized users of electricity branches, we will file a case that the thieves will be sentenced to twice the fine in addition to compensation for the damage and paying for the electricity consumed.

The General and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Kermanshah Province stated: The use of unauthorized electricity behind the meter causes pressure on the public electricity network and also causes damage to the network equipment, power fluctuations and power outages of other legitimate electricity customers.

The CEO of the Electricity Distribution Company of Kermanshah Province also stated in this meeting: Electricity consumption in the province is monitored 24/7, unfortunately, a limited percentage of subscribers with different tariffs, including domestic and commercial, manipulate the meter and use electricity illegally.
