Kermanshah pioneer in the implementation of a waste -to -fuel converter project

According to the Mehr correspondent, the Memorandum of Understanding the Waste -to -Fuel Conversion Project (RDF) was signed on Tuesday afternoon with the follow -up of Nader Norouzi, the mayor of Kermanshah and with the presence of Kermanshah Governor Manouchehr Habibi. The project, which will be operational for the first time in the country, will be implemented with the support of the government, the Ministry of Interior and the Kermanshah Governorate in cooperation with the Waste Recycling Company and the West Cement Company.
With the implementation of this project, Kermanshah will be the first province of the country to use urban dry waste to produce alternative energy.
Nader Norouzi told reporters on the sidelines of the memorandum: One of the most important environmental measures in Kermanshah is the implementation of a waste -to -fuel waste project, which will have a significant impact on reducing contamination and waste management.
He added: Since year 2, meetings have been held with the cement plant to replace part of the fuel consumed by the plant, which is Mazot. Mazot is one of the fuels that cause serious environmental pollution, but with the implementation of the plan, part of the fuel will be replaced by recycled waste waste.
The mayor of Kermanshah, referring to government support for the project, said: “After the presidential order to implement the RDF plan and support municipalities to operationalize the project, executive measures were accelerated.”
According to the signature agreement, some of the fuel consumed by the cement plant will be provided via RDF using construction waste. The project will cost the Kermanshah Municipality, which, according to the agreements, will be funded by the Ministry of Petroleum.
Norouzi explained the costs of implementation of the project: To provide 2 tonnes of alternative fuel per day, the cost of 2 USD per kilogram is projected. This means 2 million tomans a day and about 2 billion tomans a year, which must be paid from the Ministry of Petroleum's budget so that the municipality can spend it in the recovery and replacement process.
At the end, Norouzi emphasized: In addition to reducing environmental pollution and replacing fossil fuels, the project also prevents the accumulation of construction waste and will make them a functional source. This is an effective step towards sustainable development and environmental protection of Kermanshah and can be a model for other cities in the country.
