Iranian farmed caviar was exported to 28 countries

According to Mehr News Agency, Nasser Karmirad, Director General of the Office of Restoration and Protection of Aquatic Genetic Resources of the Iranian Fisheries Organization, said: In 9 months of this year, more than 5 tons of farmed caviar worth 3.2 million dollars were exported to 28 countries through Iranian customs. which increased by 112% compared to the export of 12 months of 1402.

He added: It is also estimated that more than 50% of this number left the country through a passenger.

Director General of the Office of Restoration and Protection of Aquatic Genetic Resources of the Iranian Fisheries Organization stated: The countries of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Belgium are in the first to third ranks of Iran's farmed caviar exports in the 9 months of this year.

He considered the reason for the increase in Iran's caviar exports to be, first of all, the high quality of produced caviar and the special position of demand for Iranian caviar in the international market, and said: “Last year, we had 21 tons and 612 kilograms of farmed caviar in the country, of which 4 tons and 784 kilograms were exported.” .

Kermirad continued: “Soon, the report on the total production of farmed caviar in the 9 months of this year will be completed and summarized.”

The Director General of the Office for the Restoration and Protection of Aquatic Genetic Resources admitted about the number of sturgeon breeding units: In 6 months of this year, 304 active farms in the field of sturgeon breeding have been announced in 22 provinces of the country, and Gilan, Mazandaran and Fars are among the leading provinces in caviar production. They are considered breeding in the country.
