Conflicts of mining activities in Anbaran region should be minimized

According to Mehr news agency, Hassan Qasimpour said regarding the problems of mines in Anbaran region: Considering the changes made in the mining law, unfortunately, the Environmental Protection Organization does not have a role in issuing licenses for mining activities.
He said: With the amendments that were made in the mining law, the inquiry about environmental protection for mining activities was removed from the law, which has caused problems in the field of mining activities.
The General Director of Environmental Protection of Ardabil province, referring to the pursuit of the amendment of this law through the Environmental Protection Organization, stated: Of course, due to the effects of the activities of some mines in creating environmental pollution, the General Department of Environmental Protection of the province, according to its inherent duty and Based on the environmental regulations, while monitoring the pollution of mines in the region, it follows these cases through judicial authorities.
Ghasempour continued: At present, 19 mines in Anbaran region have a license and due to the conflicts that mining activities can have with village activities such as gardening, agriculture and animal husbandry, strict monitoring is done to reduce the negative effects of these activities on the health of the environment and people. .
