A Saudi official: Saudi Arabia is looking to launch its own nuclear program

According to Mehr News Agency, quoted by Sputnik, Adel Al-Jubeir, a member of the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia and the representative of Saudi Arabia in climate affairs, emphasized that the country is trying to start its nuclear program with the aim of producing energy and converting uranium into nuclear fuel.
He added: The nuclear program allows Saudi Arabia to sell nuclear fuel at competitive prices and strengthen its economic position.
These words of Al-Jubeir were discussed at the meeting of Saudi Arabia's role against global environmental challenges on the sidelines of the annual Davos meeting.
He said: As the largest energy producer in the world, Saudi Arabia plans to become one of the most prominent energy exporters in the world. We don't want to be a country for extracting mines and transferring reserves abroad.
Al-Jubeir continued: This issue has nothing to do with nuclear weapons.
