The vice -president of the ruling party faction in the German parliament called for sanctions against Israel, stressing that the German government should not be indifferent to the current situation in Gaza, Mehr News Agency quoted Al Jazeera as saying.
He said: Berlin should examine sanctions against Israel.
Referring to the possibility of suspension of military aid to Israel, he said: “Among the boycott options could be the suspension of weapons exports to Israel.”
The vice president of the Social Democratic Party's faction also added: “The suspension of the agreements between Israel and Europe is one of the options on the table.”
He said Israeli officials' recent remarks on the lack of restrictions on sending humanitarian aid to Gaza were unacceptable and said that Israel's claim of lack of restrictions on sending aid to Gaza is not convincing.
The German parliamentary official emphasized: Unless the actual pressure on the Israeli government is put on, it does not expect significant action.
