The block approved the 17th package of sanctions against Moscow, according to a source at the EU's Permanent Representative Committee.

According to the source, these new sanctions should also be approved by the EU foreign ministers, which will be implemented on May 5.

Earlier, reports indicated that the 17th package of sanctions against Russia included the location of about 5 Russian individuals and partners, as well as between 2 and 5 tankers carrying Moscow oil.

The 16th EU sanctions package against Moscow was implemented on February 7. The new sanctions package will be launched as Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently called for direct talks with Kiev and resolved the war through diplomatic and resumed negotiations in Istanbul.
