Zelnsky “conditioned” to sign a mineral agreement with Trump!

Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelksky said in a recent comment on the mineral agreement with the United States that it would not sign it if it would endanger Kiev's joining the European Union.

Zelksky's remarks came after the details of the new mineral agreement between Kiev and Washington were released. The latest version of the agreement, which the United States has offered, includes provisions that allow Washington to have unprecedented control over Ukrainian natural resources through a joint venture fund.

Ukraine's YEVROPEISKA PRAVDA newspaper reported that due to the severe restrictions on the agreement that overshadows Ukraine's economic independence, it may contradict Okrine's joining the European Union.

“The constitution of Ukraine has made it clear that our path is towards joining the European Union,” Zelksky said. Any issue that endangers Ukraine's accession to the European Union is not acceptable.

According to him, Ukraine has officially received a new version of the US mineral agreement from the United States.

“There are many issues in the new version of the agreement that have not been discussed before,” the Ukrainian president added. There are also other issues that the parties have not already accepted.

Kiev and Washington were scheduled to sign the deal on February 5, but the conflict between Zelkski and US President Donald Trump and his vice -president Jedi Venus at the White House was delayed.

Zelksky confirmed March 4 that the United States had proposed a “big” mineral agreement within the framework of the previous agreement, but did not announce a specific time to sign it. Trump, however, said he was expecting the agreement to be signed soon.

According to the initial version of the agreement, a fund was established by Ukraine from the extraction of natural resources including oil, gas and logistics infrastructure.

In a copy that Kiev had previously confirmed, there was no security guarantees, but it was decided that “at least every year in the fund will be re -investigated to ensure the security and prosperity of Ukraine.”
