Consumption of 2 % of petroleum products in the transportation sector

He added: The growth rate of petroleum products in the transportation sector has increased by seven percent compared to last year, which is continuing exponentially.

“Of course, part of this increase is due to the increase in the number of fleets, which is natural, but the main part is due to the burnout of the cars, the deputy minister said.

Azimi Far added: The part is due to the misconduct of macro policies in the country's energy sector.

He said that the country's worn -out cars consume three to three times the average consumption of global petroleum products.

The CEO of the National Iranian Petroleum Refining and Distribution Company criticized the fuel basket for lack of diversity, saying that this has been a factor in increasing consumption.
