Revival of the Golestan Reading tradition in Bosnia and Herzegovina

According to the Mehr News Agency, in collaboration with the Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural consultation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Islamic Society of Islamic Society (Radio Bir), the story of Golestan Saadi will be programmed every day at the dawn of the holy month of Ramadan.

Following the translation of Golestan Saadi's book into Bosnia in the year 6 by Munir Darryic and its publication in collaboration with Iran's cultural consultation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Dubrakga Publications with the support of the Center for Organizing and Publishing of Islamic Studies and Humanities and with the aim of publishing more Ethical teachings of our country's prominent literary works, in collaboration with the Radio of Islamic Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will produce and broadcast the Golestan Reading Program during the holy month of Ramadan.

Golestan Saadi, along with several other works of Persian literature in the past, has had a unique place in the Balkan region as the westernmost point of the Persian language, located in the heart of the region. Golestan Saadi was also used as a textbook in Ottoman schools, and Golestan Reading Houses were popular with Mathnawi.

The first manuscript of Golestan in Bosnia was found in the ninth / 15th century AD, and this activity continued until the end of the Ottoman period. Today is held at the Ghazi Library of Khosrubig Sarajevo, eighty -nine manuscripts of Golestan. This relatively large number shows that Golestan was a readable text in Bosnia during the Ottoman era, which was natural given that Golestan was used as a textbook in schools.

Ahmad Sedi Bosnavi (deceased 1) wrote the most famous Ottoman commentary on Golestan. This indicates that Persian literature was not limited to the elite but also among the general public.

It is hoped that by publishing the classic works of Persian literature and promoting them in the form of radio and media programs, the tradition of reading the works of the great works of Persian literature in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be revived.
