The second national editing school was held in Shiraz University

According to Mehr News Agency, citing Shiraz University, this course (specially for universities and institutions of higher education in the 7 regions of the country and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences), with the presence of 160 editors, executive directors of scientific journals, interested faculty members and experts of publications in the hall Dr. Mustafavi of Shiraz University and at the same time it was held online (on the Adobe Connect platform) in the form of a one-day workshop.
In this course, various topics and issues such as the principles and basics of scientific publishing, indexing and evaluation indexes of journals, publishing ethics and how to detect and prevent scientific plagiarism, successful international models in publishing scientific journals, authentic information were presented to the participants.
Also, the participants were able to practically examine and practice the types of refereeing in journals, increase the citation of articles and improve the observability of publications. This course, which was held by inviting officials and experts in this field, provided a practical and useful experience for the participants.
Samad Nejadabrahimi, director general of the Research Planning and Policy Office of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, presented the country's achievements in the field of scientific journals by stating the policies of the Publications Commission.
Morteza Taheri, the deputy of the research planning and policy office of the Ministry of Ataf and indexing consultant, also explained the principles and basics of indexing scientific journals (emerging trends) and in the second part of his speech, he discussed the effectiveness of science and the promotion of journals.
Also, Payam Kabiri, as a consultant and specialist in indexing scientific publications, taught the types of refereeing in journals and their advantages and disadvantages during this course.
Improving the visibility and citation of scientific articles, identifying the types of plagiarism and the necessary measures in this field, and the topic of artificial intelligence and its function in scientific journals, were among the other topics raised in the lecture of this university professor.
Also, in the opening ceremony of this workshop, Shokraleh Khakrand, head of Shiraz University Publications Department and Ali Hafizi, research assistant of Shiraz University, as the hosts of the meeting, while welcoming, introduced the status of scientific journals of Shiraz University.
According to Khakrand, Shiraz University is currently the owner of 24 scientific journals, of which 12 journals are published in Persian, 11 in English and 1 in Arabic.
The head of publishing department of Shiraz University said: All the university publications have been registered and evaluated in the publication evaluation system, based on the announced results, 6 journals have an “international” rating, 6 magazines have an “A” rating, and 7 magazines have a “B” rating. are
It should be noted that a meeting was held in the evening of the same day with the presence of Morteza Taheri, the head of Shiraz University Publications Department, Payam Kabiri and the editors of humanities scientific journals in order to help promote journals and index them.
