Allameh stated that families with one to two children make the elderly lonely in this phenomenon and said: We are witnessing the acceleration of the aging rate and as a result the elderly are isolated and alone, and to solve this, the government, various ministries, and municipalities should play a greater role. A good mood was created for the elderly.
Acknowledging the unfavorable performance of pension funds, he said: Pension funds do not provide good services to the elderly. Now we need to play a social role. This role has been played well in the last three years in the General Health Department by implementing successful programs, but we are far from reaching the desired point.
Allameh stated: In order to create a good mood, the municipality has organized events such as the joy of the elderly, city treasures and competitions of the joy of the elderly, which are unprecedented in their kind.
The secretary of the presidential population working group pointed out that the city approved the elderly-friendly law with 8 different axes and added: public spaces should be adapted to become elderly-friendly. Honoring the elderly should be seriously put on the agenda of all organizations and prepare the society, which is suffering from a generation gap, for the full implementation of this law by implementing special programs.
Allameh mentioned the change in the government's view on the issue of old age and stated: “The draft of the comprehensive bill for the protection of the rights of the elderly is being prepared, and by changing the view from a recommendation to a legal requirement, we are trying to provide special services to people.”
