World must stand up to counter Israeli criminals, support Palestinians

Iran has censured the inaction of the international community towards war crimes committed by Israel against civilians in the Gaza Strip, saying the world must stand up to counter the Zionist criminals and support Palestinians.

“Rise up for the world peace and security in the face of the Zionist criminals and their supporters and defend the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kan’ani said in a post on his X account on Friday.

He warned against the lack of a firm reaction by the international community, including world organizations, governments, and nations, to the crimes of Israel over the past three weeks.

The absence of severe global reaction to all the horrible crimes perpetrated by the Zionists in Gaza and allowing the war criminals and their obvious supporters go unpunished would be tantamount to discrediting international mechanisms, rights, laws and regulations, the Iranian spokesman emphasized.

“Lack of a preventive and regretful measure and the Zionists’ impunity for their war crimes in Gaza mean that justice seekers, freedom seeking and the advocates of international peace and security have compromised and surrendered to the war criminals and villains,” Kan’ani said.

On October 7, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas launched its biggest operation against Israel in years in a surprise offensive, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, in response to the occupying regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

Since then, Israel has pressed ahead with a relentless bombardment of Gaza. The death toll in Gaza since the start of the Israeli onslaught has reached 7,326, including 3,038 children and 1,726 women. Around 18,967 Palestinians have also been wounded.

Tel Aviv has also blocked water, food, and electricity to Gaza, plunging the besieged territory into a humanitarian crisis.
