Eslam Jahedi claim gold in para canoe: 2022 Asian Para Games


HANGZHOU, China – Eslam Jahedi of Iran won a gold medal in the Men’s VL2 Final of the 2022 Asian Para Games on Tuesday.

He crossed the line first with a time of 55.749 seconds.

Thailand’s Santi Wantawee won the silver with 1:00.020 and the bronze medal went to Indian Gajendra Singh with 1:01.084 seconds.

Earlier in the day, Shahla Behrouzirad had won a silver in the Women’s KL3 Final and Roya Soltani had snatched a bronze in the Women’s KL2 Final.

A total of 128 male athletes represent Iran in 16 events and 82 female athletes compete in 11 events.

Iran finished in third place in the 2018 Asian Para Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Iran’s slogan in the 2022 Asian Para Games is “Faith, Iran, Honor” and the name of the delegation is “Children of Iran”.

Hangzhou 2022 takes place from Oct. 22 to 28. An estimated 3,000 athletes compete across 22 sports.
