Cuba: Forced migration of immigrants, Washington's blackmail against Latin America

Qatar's Al Jazeera Network, Qatar News Agency Bruno Rodriguez In response to the US recent decision to transfer illegal immigrants to the Guantanamo base, the Cuban Foreign Minister has described the move as “unacceptable” and described it as a “tool for political pressure and blackmail against Latin American people.”

He also emphasized that the construction of a large detention center at the Guantanamo Maritime Base is a “brutal action” that threatens Cuban national security and the region.

The remarks come after US President Donald Trump has ordered a large migrant detention center in the Gulf of Guantanamo, which has the capacity to maintain up to 6,000.

This decision has faced negative reactions from different countries, especially Cuba.
